It's a travel day - and I must admit, I was cutting things a little fine. My flight was at 10am and I intended to be there at 9am. They say they want you to check in 45 minutes before the flight. There are lots of road works going on in Canberra right now and more importantly, getting to the airport by 9am means going through peak hour traffic.

Luck was smiling on me today though because only one of the regular bottlenecks was bottled up and I got to the airport at 9:05am due to the taxi drivers skillful choice of lanes.

Today feels like it will be a good day, even though this cold I have is in my head and blocking up my nose - our flight was just canceled. Now, this isn't my normal bad travel luck, instead, I've been put on an earlier flight that will arrive a good 25 minutes earlier. Isn't it great I got here early? I've not seen many other passengers for my flight go up and change their boarding pass - too bad for them.

Last time I was in Canberra Airport they'd made the wifi free - this time I can't find the wifi at all. I wonder what is with that.

I'm excited to be presenting today and to catch up with my friend Bruce. It's been a while since I met up with the Sydney Smalltalk Users Group. Last time I was there I got incredibly ill - little did I know I had diabetes. That weekend I could have easily ended up in hospital. Somehow I didn't. Things are hazy, but I think Rowan took good care of me that weekend.

If you're in the neighbourhood and weren't sure whether you were going to come to the SSTUG or not - Come!
