My second day at home with the cold. I'm not enjoying it. My mind gets bored easily - when it can think. This cold is giving me on's and off's. Sometimes I'm rich with thought, other times I'm out for the count. So now it's time for me to badly metaphor my current situation to programming :)

You'd think they'd know what the cold is by now.. wouldn't you? It's so common (hence, the common cold) and it puts a large percentage of the working force off home every day, that there should be a huge economic push to have a 'hour cure'.

Hah! this is exactly the kind of thinking people who push manifestly typed languages push. CLUE: The world is dynamic, it will always be dynamic, it always has been dynamic. Stop trying to be control freaks. You're going to have your cold for a few days. Accept it and move on. Stop wasting our time with your searches for magic bullets.
