I've been with the internet for a long time now. It's like having a tv or a telephone or shoes. To suddenly be without it has made my computer a hunk of uselessness. I'm posting from work at the moment because as soon as I get home it'll be there, ready to play my music - but that's about it.
Home isn't really true - the house's floors are being polished - toxic fumes. Then after that, the walls are being painted - more fumes. So I'm staying a friends place for the week. Good friend! He has a spa and a pool - but it's the middle of winter and I've yet to get in to the spa yet.
What to do instead of using my computer? well, there's dvd's on his awesome uber surround sound system and large screen; there's alcohol; there's learning about very complex network setups (he's an expert in networks); there's the PS/2 of which he always woops my arse; and there's general TV; and there's the running machine (I'm starting to feel healthier already).. but the novelty of these things will run out shortly I'm sure. If I were without my home and it's fast internet connection for much longer than a week I might actually go nuts with boredom and do something drastic like taking to drinking every night just to get to sleep earlier. -- Grim! (work mates suggest I get a girl to play with. the idea appeals to me)
